"Spanish Missions"

Spanish missions were established to spread Christianity in the American Southwest, with hundreds built from the early 17th century across what are now southern U.S. states. Most are now ruins, but some remain well-preserved and still hold mass. They can be easily found online and make for interesting visits. Notable examples include San Jose de Garcia in Las Trampas, NM, and Mission San Xavier del Bac near Tucson, Arizona
