"Spanish Missions"

Spanish missions were Spain's attempt to spread Christianity throughout the American Southwest. Spain build 100's of missions across what is now the southern American states starting in the early 17th century. Most now lay in ruins but the few still in good repair are wonderful to see and visit. A few still hold mass.

The missions are all quite easy to find with a good internet search and I recommend adding them to your adventures in the Southwest.

My personal favorites are San Jose de Garcia in Las Trampas, NM, and Mission San Xavier del Bac near Tucson Arizona.
